Terminal Tricks!
Earlier, you saw our post about Terminal, and what it does. Here, I'll show you a few of my favorite commands. The first command is "say -v cellos" This command is a sub-command of the "say" command, where your Mac, or Terminal speaks to you. At the end, you can out any words, and your Mac will speak in a different voice. You might want to try, "say -v cellos Droid". :)The next command is an essential. The "killall" command is very useful when an application becomes unresponsive. You could use Activity Monitor to do this, but in Terminal, there is another way; with the killall command. In Terminal, type, "killall", and then put the name of the application. If you're doing Dock customization, you can make changes, but they won't appear until the Dock program restarts. Type, "killall Dock" to restart the Dock. The last command can be entertaining, not impressively though. This command is very famous, and plays an "ASCII" version of Star Wars IV. The command is pointless, and isn't productive, but is cool if you have absolutely nothing to do. Type, telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl . Hoe you have fun with these Terminal commands!
