Amir Khan vs. LaMont Peterson: Fair fight?

Last night on HBO, the "event of the evening" was Amir Khan against LaMont Peterson. Khan accepted the fight, and went to LaMont's turf in Washington D.C. to fight him. I saw the entire fight and it was back and forth, but became very controversial. The fight was going back and forth, and the fighters by rounds 4 & 5 looked slightly fatigued. This caused Peterson to dip his head down a lot, and the effect was that Khan didn't like it, so he began to push him off. The referee gave Peterson a warning to keep his head up, and gave Khan a warning for pushing. After 2 or 3 more pushes, the referee deducted a point from Khan's scorecard. In boxing, this is very uncommon and only happens on rare occasions. Even better, later in the fight, Khan was deducted another point for more pushing. The most controversial part was that Khan was never warned of a point deduction, just told not to push. In the end LaMont Peterson won, but Khan would've won, if the controversial point deductions would not have occurred. After the fight, one of HBO's commentators went in the ring to interview both Amir and LaMont. Amir claimed, "he was the cleaner fighter, and the point deductions were unexpected, and very unfair." He also stated that he thinks the hometown crowd was to blame. In LaMont's interview, he said that "he thought the point deductions weren't for the right cause," he complained that during the fight, when LaMont put his head down, that Khan would push down on his neck, and that's what should have caused a point deduction. LaMont was also asked if he would accept a rematch, and without hesitation, said he would be open to another fight with Khan.
