Protect IP and S.978: What you Need to Know.

So, lately on the internet there has been a lot of buzz about the "S.978" law. This new law would prohibit any use of copyright materials; even if you are simply singing a song that has copyright. So, there was a big amount of people against this law, therefore, our United States Government decided to make Protect IP. Protect IP is yet another law, but there isn't much time to stop it, as the law is being rushed through; already passed the Senate, now at the House of Representatives.So, what's so bad about Protect IP? Well, technically there are no new laws being put into place. Basically these laws are to cut down on piracy, by making the penalties much bigger. For example, Protect IP will get you jail time for streaming ANYTHING that has copyright on the internet, this might even include videogame gameplays. Also, this will be put against your criminal record. Basically Protect IP is the exact same thing, but reworded to get the law passed. There are very few differences, but they can be very different; such as, instead of having to stream copyright material on the internet 10 times, Protect IP makes that limit 1. Also, for example if your website might have a review on a song, even though it is not the song itself, this can be removed from all search engines, and would stop your views on your website, and possibly stop your cash flow; meaning a loss of jobs, and an even worse economy. That just goes to show that our lawmakers have n idea how the internet works.There are many more situations where this is the same case, such as for people like WhiteBoy7thSt who make their living, off filming themselves play games; but this could be taken away, also meaning, a higher unemployment rate. And since this "crime" is put against your criminal record, most places that you apply for job, will not want a criminal working there. My point is, we need to stop "Protect IP". And our stupid Government.
