The Internet is at War!

Yesterday, the FBI shut down MegaUpload (different article), a file-sharing site, that you might've used throughout the past 5 years. The government is really cracking down on piracy, both with this and SOPA/PIPA. I won't talk about SOPA, or the shutting down of MegaUpload too much, so let's get to the point. Anonymous, a worldwide hacking group, were not exactly pleased about the actions by the FBI. As Anonymous usually does, they hacked only to make a statement, not to steal info. The men in the Vendetta masks took down countless government websites. These included: the RIAA website, Department of Justice website, Copyright site, and FBI.gov. This happened within a matter of an hour. The U.S.A. put the sites back up, but Anonymous kept persistent, and took them back down. Those happenings were crazy, but truly made a strong statement. All we can hope for is that SOPA doesn't pass.
